Vacancy nomination for Alumni Trustee

The nominating committee of the alumni association hereby gives notice of the following nomination for an Alumni Trustee vacancy. This nomination will be for the remainder of the open Alumni Trustee term.


Christine Lewis, Anthropology ’07, Portland, OR

Christine graduated from Reed in 2007 with a BA in Anthropology. In January 2019 she was sworn into office as the District 2 Representative on Portland’s Metro Council. Prior to her election, Christine was the former Legislative Director at the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. She has a decade of experience in state and local government and policy roles. In 2016 she managed the historic housing bond campaign in the City of Portland. In her spare time she volunteers with Minds Matter of Portland, the Junior League of Portland, and the Portland Opera.

Christine has been active in the Reed community since graduating, serving on her Reunions committee, as current Chair of Alumni Fundraising for Reed, admissions volunteer, RELAY leadership academic coach, Reed Alumni Connect, Working Weekend mentor, alumni local host, and career network volunteer. When she was a student at Reed she worked at the reactor and as a house advisor, signated Greenboard, wrote the CSO blotter for the Quest, volunteered with SEEDS, and played rugby.

She and her husband Mike live in the Willamette neighborhood of West Linn.
