Alternative ways to designate your gift
Most gifts to Reed are given to the area of greatest need. You may also give a gift to Reed and designate your gift to financial aid, student support, or faculty support. These gifts may be made at any time online at reed.edu/givenow.
For alumni who wish to further designate their gift, please find more funds below with giving information. Reed will honor your intention, and will get in touch if there are any questions or issues designating your gift.
Student Emergency Fund
The Reed Student Emergency Fund is available for students who have short-term or one-time needs that are deemed immediately vital to the personal health or academic well-being of the student. During COVID-19, the Student Emergency Fund will support students experiencing a wide range of unanticipated needs, including medical expenses, food and supplies, rent and housing security affected by COVID-19 disruptions, and more.

Reed Community Pantry and the Basic Needs Initiative
The Reed Community Pantry is part of Reed College’s Basic Needs Initiative. The Reed Community Pantry provides nonperishable food items, toiletries, hygiene products, clothing, books, and more at no cost to members of the Reed community. This resource is open to Reed students, faculty, and staff.

Career Advancement Fund
The Career Advancement Fund supports students pursuing professional development and career opportunities. Students may be awarded up to $500 per school year for travel to internships, shadow opportunities, or professional interviews; career-related conferences, trainings, and related events; travel to graduate or professional school interviews; purchase of professional attire; standardized test registration or test prep fees for GRE, LSAT, or MCATs, and graduate or professional school application fees.

Legal Education Access Fund (LEAF)
The Legal Education Access Fund supports students interested in pursuing a career in law. LEAF funding is available to current students with financial need for LSAT registration fees and prep courses, as well as law school application fees.

Reed Canyon
Declared a wildlife refuge by the state of Oregon in 1913, Reed Canyon is a 28-acre headwater forest left largely untouched and untamed until restoration efforts began in earnest in 1999. Restoration goals include improving diversity of wildlife, managing invasive plant species, restoring native plant communities, and increasing potential habitat for salmon and other resident fish.

Library
The library is a central part of the intellectual and cultural life at Reed, and houses a collection of more than 680,000 volumes. It is a depository for U.S. government documents and maintains a special collection of rare books, manuscripts, and archival materials. The library manages a collection of nearly 230,000 digital images that support instruction and research in art, ancient Mediterranean studies, humanities, history, and other disciplines.
