The Alumni Board serves as the outreach and engagement arm of Reed’s community.

About the Alumni Board

Board members help strengthen connections among alumni, students, families, and the college by supporting programs, inviting participation, identifying future volunteers, and bringing alumni perspectives into Reed’s broader engagement work.

What the Alumni Board Does

The Board works in partnership with Alumni Relations & Parent Engagement to:

  • Strengthen relationships among alumni, students, families, and the college
  • Increase participation in events, programs, and volunteer opportunities
  • Support pathways from student engagement to alumni leadership
  • Help identify and welcome future volunteers
  • Encourage a culture of philanthropy and shared responsibility
  • Bring alumni perspectives into Reed’s engagement strategy

The board’s work is grounded in Reed’s engagement framework: building relationships, increasing participation, supporting volunteer leadership, and creating long-term connections to the college.

Alumni Board Committees

Much of the board’s work happens through committees and working groups. Each board member serves on one of the committees, but membership is also open to all alumni. Interested in joining one of the committees? Email alumni@reed.edu for more information.
