Reed Parents & Families
Your student’s Reed experience is only the beginning. As a parent or family member, you’re a vital part of the Reed community—supporting, connecting, and shaping what comes next. Whether you’re on campus or across the globe, you belong here.
Parent & Family Weekend
Each fall, families are invited back to campus to reconnect with their student, with Reed, and with each other.
Enjoy sessions with college leadership and faculty as well as campus tours and Reed traditions, all of which spark conversation and connection.
This isn’t just a weekend, it’s a glimpse into the Reed your student knows and loves. View session recordings from last year's weekend.

Hum 110
Hum 110 "Year 2" Mexico sessions are now available! Participants may sign up for one or all three standalone sessions. Each session includes optional advanced reading. The first half of each session features a lecture viewing, followed by discussion in the second half.
Alumni College
Participate in faculty lectures, alumni panels, and live discussions. This year's series of events is themed "The Value of a Liberal Arts Education." You are welcome to attend all of the events or just a handful of the ones that work for your schedule. These events offer a space for Reedies to reconnect with the ideas, values, and questions at the core of a Reed education.
Advocating for a Liberal Arts Education Toolkit
Reed’s Chief Communications Officer Sheena McFarland leads a timely and practical conversation about how families can advocate for the value of liberal arts education in today’s challenging cultural and political climate. This toolkit is available to families interested in navigating and responding to common misconceptions about higher education. You may also access the slides and presentation.

Parent & Family Leadership Committee
The Parent & Family Leadership Committee is charged with providing families’ perspectives to college leadership, advocating for a liberal arts education, increasing connections between families, and inspiring sustained family giving. The committee leads engagement events and opportunities, supports the Reed Annual Fund, and participates in quarterly virtual meetings.
Giving to Reed is our way of investing in our student’s future—and showing appreciation for the education that’s changing their life.
